The finger guard aids safe sewing and reduces the risk of coming into contact with the needle. This accessory is already mounted on the b05 ACADEMY and it is optionally available for the b05 CRAFTER. Depending on the presser foot that you are using or the project that you are sewing, you can remove or attach the finger guard very easily.

In this tutorial video we show you how you can select stitches with the practical dial. The 30 stitches are divided in groups and marked in different colors. To select a stitch you just turn the dial to the desired group. Then select the stitch length or turn the stitch length dial to the icon according to the color coding. Adjust the stitch width and you are ready to sew!

In this video, we show you how to ensure that the fabric edge is guided to be straight, using the markings on the stitch plate or the seam guide. This is also helpful to sew a certain distance from the fabric edge. We will also show you, how to make tie-off stitches and what is important when sewing different fabric thicknesses.

Would you like to sew buttonholes? This tutorial video shows you how easy it is with your bernette: Simply select the stitch for the buttonhole and insert the button into the button holder of the presser foot Then just pull the buttonhole lever down as far as possible. Now you can sew your buttonhole. The video shows you also how to cut open the buttonhole safely by using to pins. Check the buttonhole size and, if necessary, adjust the buttonhole length with the buttonhole holder.
